The conflict, which began with a declared operation to end Iran's nuclear threat, is at a standstill with no diplomatic way out, and guests on the programme debated whether the US has run out of military options and how the war is affecting Trump's political standing ahead of the midterm elections. Journalist Gabriel Gatehouse argued that the US has effectively lost the conflict, while Trump's longtime friend Chris Ruddy insisted the president has more options and is willing to take political pain to stop Iran from controlling the Strait of Hormuz.
